Peppermint Robotics has raised ₹100 crore, approximately $10.5 million, in a Pre-Series B funding round led by pi Ventures and Crane Venture Partners, with participation from Asiana Fund. The Pune- and Austin-based startup plans to use the investment to expand manufacturing capacity, develop its next generation of autonomous robots and strengthen its international operations.
The company announced the funding on November 4, describing the round as a combination of primary capital and secondary share transactions. The investment follows a period of reported revenue growth and expansion into international markets.
Robots Designed for Commercial and Industrial Facilities
Peppermint Robotics develops autonomous machines for floor cleaning and specialised material transportation. Its robots are designed for environments such as factories, hospitals, airports, warehouses, hotels and universities, where repetitive cleaning and internal logistics tasks can require substantial staff time.
The company’s systems use computer vision and LiDAR to map their surroundings, plan routes and avoid obstacles. Its proprietary Peppermint OS supports robot operations, while a cloud-based dashboard allows customers to monitor activity.
Peppermint said its robots are now deployed across nine countries. The company also reported that revenue grew nearly sixfold between FY24 and FY26, following a doubling of revenue in the previous year.
Manufacturing and North American Expansion
The startup plans to direct the new capital towards engineering, manufacturing infrastructure and the development of additional robotic products. It is also preparing to establish an assembly line in North America, complementing its existing manufacturing operations in Pune.
A larger local production and service presence could help the company support customers in the United States more effectively, while reducing the operational challenges associated with supplying and maintaining industrial equipment across long distances.
Peppermint also intends to expand its business development activities in the United States and Asia and strengthen its presence in Europe.
Demand for Automation Creates a Larger Market
Industrial and commercial organisations are increasingly evaluating automation for tasks that are repetitive, physically demanding or difficult to staff consistently. Autonomous cleaning systems can help facility operators standardise routine work, although their performance depends on the layout of the site, maintenance requirements and the ability to integrate them into existing operations.
The funding gives Peppermint additional resources to scale its hardware and software capabilities. Its next phase will depend on converting international interest into sustained deployments while maintaining reliability and service quality across a growing customer base.
