Ravical Raises $17 Million to Help Accounting Firms Scale Services With AI

LONDON, United Kingdom — Artificial intelligence startup Ravical has raised $17 million in seed funding to expand its software platform for accounting and tax advisory firms. Announced on October 29, 2026, the investment round was led by MMC Ventures, with participation from existing investors Lakestar and Pitchdrive and new investor Shapers. The financing brings Ravical’s total funding to approximately $25 million and will support expansion across Europe and into the United States.

Ravical Develops AI for Professional Accounting Services

Accounting firms traditionally expand their operations by recruiting additional professionals to manage growing client portfolios. However, increasing demand for advisory services and difficulties recruiting experienced employees are creating challenges for this model. Ravical is developing AI software intended to help firms deliver more services without requiring staffing levels to increase at the same pace.

The platform focuses on capturing and applying the expertise of experienced accounting professionals across an organization’s wider client base. Rather than allowing employees to use separate AI assistants independently, Ravical aims to establish consistent processes that reflect a firm’s established methods of analysis and advice. This approach is intended to make specialized knowledge available throughout the organization.

Funding Will Support European and US Expansion

Ravical reports that more than 100 accounting firms across Europe already use its platform. The company plans to strengthen its presence in the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany before expanding into additional European markets and entering the United States. The investment will provide resources for product development, customer support, and commercial expansion.

The startup was founded by Joris Van Der Gucht, Ken Bastiaensen, and Benjamin Vandermarliere. Van Der Gucht previously co-founded Silverfin, a cloud accounting platform used by firms across multiple countries. The founding team’s experience in professional services technology has influenced Ravical’s focus on integrating AI into established accounting workflows.

AI Changes Expectations for Accounting Firms

Artificial intelligence is increasingly being used to summarize documents, analyze financial information, and assist with routine professional tasks. These capabilities may allow accounting firms to spend less time on repetitive administrative activities and devote more attention to business advice. However, the widespread availability of AI tools also means that clients can access some forms of information without consulting traditional service providers.

Ravical argues that accounting firms will need to distinguish themselves through professional judgment, industry knowledge, and the ability to deliver advice consistently. Its technology is designed to identify potential advisory opportunities across a firm’s client portfolio, including situations involving financing, regulatory changes, or financial risks. Such recommendations would still require appropriate professional review before being acted upon.

Startup Targets a Changing Professional Services Market

The investment reflects growing interest in AI applications designed for specific professional industries. Rather than providing a general-purpose chatbot, Ravical is developing tools tailored to the working methods and responsibilities of accounting and tax advisers. Its success will depend on the accuracy of its technology, integration with existing software, and the confidence of firms using AI-supported workflows.

As the company expands, maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive financial information will remain essential. The $17 million financing provides Ravical with additional resources to develop its platform and demonstrate how artificial intelligence can support accounting firms seeking to improve productivity while maintaining professional service quality.
