RIJOUX Fashion Business Trip: Milano Fashion Week MEN’S FW20/21 and White Show by Moshe Silberberg

White Show

During Milano Men’s Fashion Week, White Show put on their first event, dedicated entirely to sustainable development in fashion design and recycling. It was a cosy meeting with all these exhibitors in one building, not to confuse this with White Show’s main event, which has three or four buildings filled with designers and brands.

M. Seventy S.R.L. organized the White Show, and we had the chance to meet the team behind this amazing project. Salvatore Ferragamo presented some gorgeous shoes, though I’m afraid I can’t say much about them as I didn’t pay too much attention to the video presentation. I had a walk through the shoe exhibition and saw a number of very attractive designs.

While wandering, we met AYNI from Lima, Peru, whose unique designs combined Peruvian fabrics into these amazing sweaters, tops, and ponchos. The Albini Group stand piqued my interest, where I paused to learn about their cutting-edge fabrics and patterns. By pure chance, we met Vivienne Westwood and the people of Paul Shark during the trade show walking around.

ICEBERG FW 20-21 Men’s Fashion Show

With beautiful people everywhere, the pumping music helped create an incredible vibe for this cool as an ice fashion show. Intriguing attire combined coats with hoodies, with one outfit even displaying Tweety and Daffy from Looney Tunes, which just happen to be my favorite cartoons. And though I didn’t see Bugs Bunny or any of the other characters in the actual show I did see them in the main collection. The day after the show, in the Gilmar showroom, I told the showroom manager and salespeople that their collection was amazing.

I didn’t like the song that closed the show – Runaway by Kanye West – but afterward, I listened to it on Spotify. And I can relate. He admits he always finds something wrong, telling the girls in advance to run away as fast as they can. It’s hard to admit that there’s always something wrong. It made me realize that no one’s perfect and that in life, as in relationships, it’s important to love what you have, even if when things are wrong that we don’t like.

Les Hommes Men’s Presentation FW 20-21

During Milano Men’s Fashion Week, I had the pleasure to meet the Belgian founders of Les Hommes, Tom Notte, and Bart Vandebosch, along with Tom’s sister Maaike Notte. She and I lived on the same street during the seven years I lived in Antwerp, a few buildings down from mine.

What a small world! That our paths would cross during Milano Fashion Week is oddly serendipitous.

Our Les Hommes selections will soon be available in our RIJOUX boutiques. With lots of black and white, its stylistically classic look comes somewhere between smart and casual, with some real attention-grabbing features.

Missoni Men’s Presentation FW 20-21

We’ve made Missoni collections for a few seasons, working with Missoni to develop a close relationship with their brand. Missoni’s collection continues to grow and make more ranges that we offer in our boutique. It would be an understatement to say that chatting with Angela Missoni and meeting Missoni’s founder Nonna Rosita Missoni was exciting. We were star-struck! After exchanging a few words and taking photos with them, I’m proud to say that Missoni is one of the most important brands at RIJOUX.

Etro Showroom FW 20-21

During Milano Men’s Fashion Week, we, unfortunately, missed the opportunity to attend the show, as we were busy placing an order in another showroom. We can’t wait to have our selection made by ETRO!

It will be the first season with ETRO in our RIJOUX boutique, and we expect our first delivery of ETRO’S fashions from Pre-Fall to Fall-Winter 2020 in June, though perhaps sooner. We saw the Fall and Winter 2020/2021 collection in Etro’s Showroom. What an astounding inspiration from Argentinian design, capturing a subtly arrogant mood, aloof without being overbearing.
