Suki, an AI voice tech startup, recently aligned with Google Cloud. The AI-based voice-enabled digital assistant is partnering with the cloud computing business of Google. Suki was launched in the year 2017, having its base in Redwood City, Calif. The digital assistant has successfully been used by many medical specialists, including gynecology, cardiology, family practice, and orthopedics. Suki provides support to the doctors to complete administrative tasks quickly and accurately.

According to the founder and CEO of Suki, Punit Soni, the artificial intelligence and cloud offerings of Google are advancing towards the innovative clinical solutions for the healthcare systems. By partnering with Google Cloud, Suki is anticipative of providing better value to the healthcare systems by relieving physician burnout and enhancing the clinical workflows. The partnership will also help Suki to assist more specialist doctors to focus better and deliver high-quality healthcare. Soni also says that Suki aims at eliminating the scut works of the doctors to help them focus more on their practice.

While speaking at the HLTH conference, Soni said that the partnership between Suki and Google Cloud is about strengthening the bond and finding out ways to integrate speech APIs into products to make them better and smarter.

According to the Director of Global Healthcare Solution, Aashima Gupta, Suki will now leverage Google cloud power for developing a digital assistant that will help in saving the time of doctors and deliver more value to the healthcare systems. The partnership will help in reducing physician burnout and enhance the doctors’ ability to practice medicine.

Better Healthcare

Many clinical settings have adopted suki since its launch. Suki has successfully helped in lowering the average time per note of the physicians. Suki, as a true digital assistant, understands the varying speaking styles in medical practice and the need for a more personalized approach to adapt better to the command of the physicians. The partnership will help Suki to tap the advanced technologies of Google Cloud, like machine learning and AI. With the help of the latest technologies, Suki will be able to complete information retrieval, clinical documentation, and other administrative tasks with more accuracy.

Other Notable Partnerships

The market of medical voice assistant is in the growth phase. Earlier this month, the tech giant Microsoft partnered with Nuance Communications for better conversation between patients and clinicians, and automatic integration of data into the medical records of patients.

Blue Shield of California also announced its partnership with Notable, for better documentation of physician-patient interactions.

Suki has already integrated with various HER systems, which include Epic AppOrchard, athenahealth’s Marketplace, and Cerner. Suki plans to add more HER systems to the list in the future.
