The PoS Transition That Changed the Network Architecture

The network’s transition to a permissionless Proof-of-Stake blockchain following the ESP token launch was the most significant architectural change in Espresso’s history. This upgrade decentralizes its shared sequencer and confirmation layer for rollups, using HotShot consensus to achieve finality in seconds.
