The Second MENA edition of World Cyber Security Summit convened over 200 online participants that included high-profile CISOs, Cyber Security leaders and visionaries alongside cyber security experts and influencers from global enterprises.

Highlights and key takeaways from the World Cyber Security Summit – MENA
In the opening keynote, Dr Bushra Al Blooshi spoke about the importance of having a proper cyber resilience plan across countries to guarantee the continuity of services, business and economy. She also shared some insights on how her team achieved cyber resilience strategy in Dubai.
In a panel discussion on the topic ‘Evolving cyber security trends and challenges faced in banking and financial sector’, the panellists discussed key areas such as data auditing technologies and security validation; protecting sensitive customer data; effective ways to build cyber resilience; understanding security loopholes and preventing data breaching and more.
The panellists who joined the discussion included Abdullah Faisal Biary – CISO, United Cooperative Assurance; A Karthik – Chief Evangelist, ManageEngine; Umair Ahmad – Manager Information Security and Risk, Baker Tilly International; Aftab Hasan – Secretary-General, Insurance Business Group and Asma Kotb – Senior Cyber Security Analyst, ADIB.
A tech talk by Ron Peeters – Vice President Middle East & Emerging Markets, Synack threw light on why the current pen test is not good enough and how to overcome this challenge.
World Cyber Security Summit also featured an interesting panel discussion on ‘Understanding cyber security awareness and building a cyber-aware culture in enterprises’ The panellists who joined the debate included Mohammed Al-Mengash – General Manager Cyber Security Strategy and Architecture, Saudi Telecom Company; Sanjeev Madavi – Chief Digital Transformation Officer, Khimji Ramdas LLC; Maher Al Maskari – Head Of Information Technology – Infrastructure & Support, Sinyar; Nadim Khater – Director of Professional Services, Digital Shadows and Nisreen Al Khatib – Women in Cyber Security Middle East.
The show was hosted on the virtual events platform Vmeets which helped the participants to network and conduct business in an interactive and immersive virtual environment.
