Thursday, 01 October 2020: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia played host to the most content-rich virtual conference on Artificial Intelligence on Tuesday. Hosted by Trescon, World AI Show convened over 300 online participants that included major stakeholders of Saudi Arabia’s AI ecosystem including government authorities, top AI experts & solution providers. The online conference featured leading artificial intelligence organizations such as SAS, Happiest Minds, and Automation Anywhere among others to discuss Saudi Arabia’s AI prospects, in line with vision 2030’s goals.
The conference was hosted on the newly launched virtual events platform, Vmeets that provided an immersive digital experience for participants to engage with speakers in Q&A sessions and network with solution providers in virtual exhibition booths, private consultation rooms, and private networking rooms.

Dr. Akram A. Jadawi, General Manager of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Saudi Arabia delivered a keynote on the AI Roadmap for Saudi Arabia – Reimagining regulation for the age of COVID. While talking about Saudi Arabia’s commitment to addressing the G20 AI Principles and the use of AI in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, he stated, “Our goal is to ensure the responsible deployment and use of AI across all sectors and use-cases.” He further added, “Due to the ever-evolving nature of AI and the unique public policy challenges, we are convinced that a continued dialogue on AI will benefit the government, the private sector, and the society as a whole.”
Tech talks on data platforms by Edward Gerges, Principal Advisory Manager of SAS, Saudi Arabia. Edward’s comprehensive presentation covered the imperativeness of building an AI strategy for organizations from the bottom up.
A digital strategy panel discussion on the role of AI in building the Diverse Digital Kingdom that included speakers Eng. Mohammed Mahnashi, Information Technology Advisor for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Saudi Arabia; Badar Khan, Director of Digital Mobility at NEOM and Yazeed Al-Dligan, AI Advisor for the Saudi Electricity Company.
